Robert Young Our 2004 Scion is so loaded with aromas and flavors that my ink pen went dry jotting them down for these notes. Up front, I get aromas of blackberry, plum and cherry fruit along with hints of roses and spice. I also notice hearty mocha and plentiful toasty oak aromas. The 2004 Scion has a very rich, full-bodied taste filled with berry pie and chocolate flavors. Substantial round-edged tannins and dark fruit provide this wine with a very long and lingering finish.

Wine Spectator Shows good intensity, featuring supple, fleshy, plum and wild berry fruit that's full-bodied, a touch herbal, dry and cedary, with red and black licorice. Tannic, ending on the drier side. Decant. Drink now through 2016. 1,854 cases made. –JL.

Scion wines are blends of the traditional Bordeaux red grape varietals grown on select sections of our estate vineyards. The soils are well-drained, non-vigorous, and volcanic; the Alexander Valley climate features warm afternoons and cool evenings.
