Atalon Beckstoffer Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 1999
Wine Spectator Smooth and harmonious, with a rich center of spicy currant and black cherry fruit that turns plush and elegant. Ripe plum and blackberry echo on the long, lingering, mocha-scented finish. Has ample tannins for short-term cellaring. Best from 2004 through 2012. 650 cases made. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits classic Napa Valley notes of tobacco leaf, cedar, black currants, vanilla, and loamy soil. This wine is ripe, full-bodied, and voluptuously-textured (surprising for a 1999), with great purity as well as palate presence. It should drink well for 15+ years.
