Harris Estate Treva Vyd 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, 2005
Harris Estate Treva Vyd 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, 2005

Harris Estate Vineyards

Full bodied, powerful, black currant flavors intermixed with loamy soil. Dense purple color mountain fruit. Concentrated ripe blueberry, blackberry, currant flavors, big soft tannins and smooth lingering finish. An opulent expression of handcrafted small-lot winemaking.
Wine Advocate
The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Treva’s Vineyard shows its mountain structure through full-bodied, powerful, black currant flavors intermixed with some loamy soil notes, cedar, and spice box. Pure, dense, rich, and backward, give it another 2-3 years of cellaring and drink it over the following two decades. Score: 92+ - Robert Parker, December 2007.

The Vineyard

When first tested in 1997, Nord Coast Vineyard service stated “This soil has excellent balance of nutrients for vineyard growth. It is unusual for the potassium, magnesium and calcium to be so well in balance.” We planted 110R rootstock and later budded 337 clone. This is a steep, very rocky site with red volcanic soils and excellent drainage. The South Eastern exposure provides full sun without intense heat. This vineyard produces a small yield of tiny dark blue to black berries maturing near the end of September.
