Our 2008 Napa Valley Zinfandel boasts the classic exotic nose of its hallmark lineage while displaying a delicate clear rim surrounding beautifully clear garnet color with a touch of blue. Nose opens to give way to hibiscus flower, Chinese five spice, dried kumquat and a touch of early morning bakery. Full-bodied with a juicy mouth-feel and expressive sweet black raspberry, pomegranate, and black currant, this wine is also exuberant with sweet citron, fleshy fruit, cinnamon toast, and deep dark jam. Briary asphalt and a touch of hillside dust impart a complexity that will take your enjoyment to new heights. This classic old-school Napa Valley zinfandel is exceptionally well-balanced with a long expressive finish. Enjoy now through 2018.

The Story
Brown Estate is a private family owned and operated estate winery tucked into the hills east of Rutherford in the Napa Valley. With a dream of owning a family farm, our parents put down roots in the Valley in 1980. Between 1985 and 1990 we planted a total of fifty acres of vineyards that include Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay. Through our first decade of farming the land, we sold all of our fruit to a variety of small local wineries. In 1996 we produced our first vintage of Zinfandel under the Brown Estate label. Our first Cabernet Sauvignon followed in 2000, and in 2002 we added a tiny production of Chardonnay. In 2010 we will celebrate our 30th year in the Valley and our fifteenth crush. As we approach these milestones, we take great pride in the fact that every aspect of our business remains under direct family control.
