August West Wine
The 2009 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is August West's first appellation wine from this region. It combines a few barrels of the Graham Family Vineyard with the first vintage from a new vineyard on Stoetz Road in which AW partner Howard Graham was involved with the planting. Our first RRV Pinot demonstrates what a concentrated vintage 2009 was for California Pinot, with its beautiful, dense fruit and its solid backbone for mid range aging. No patience is necessary with the '09 Russian River Pinot, but we know it will be even better if you can hold onto a few bottles past 2013 or later.
